Erectile dysfunction medications took in Glengormley

Large quantities of unlicensed medicines have been seized by of Health authorities throughout a search of a house in Glengormley.

A male was interviewed by department officers about illegally importing and consequently supplying unlicensed impotence medicines through the internet.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medication offences.

He will now be the topic of a report to the general public Prosecution Service.

The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, stated: "It is important that we get the message across that unlicensed medicines can be hazardous.

"These kinds of products being sold, normally online, have gone through no quality assurance and there can be no guarantee about their security.

"You merely do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More significantly, you do not understand the impact drugs like this may have on your health."
